Assure uses our hugely accurate fingerprinting technology. Watermarking involves inserting something invisible into the video to help detect it later. This has two big disadvantages: 1) the invisible image or audio watermark can accidentially become visible, damaging the integrity of the video or audio; 2) the content has to be sent back to the broadcaster must be the version that airs. With fingerprinting: 1) just like your own fingeprint/biometrics, there’s no insertion – just pure recognition so no risk of altered content; 2) We can receive the file minutes before it goes on air and still detect it accurately.
