Championing Workplace Wellbeing: The Award We Really Wanted

At Ad Signal, we’ve always believed that how we work is just as important as what we build. That’s why winning the “Championing Workplace Wellbeing” award at the Corporate Star Awards during IBC in Amsterdam was such a proud moment for our team. The award celebrates organisations that go beyond the basics, embedding wellbeing into the fabric of their culture. This is the award we had our sights on and we knew we’d be in with a good shout… That winning moment did not disappoint!

The award ceremony itself was a fantastic evening – champagne, canapés and the chance to celebrate with so many peers across our fantastically friendly industry. Huge thanks to the team behind the Corporate Star Awards for organising the event, and for recognising us with this beautiful glass trophy!

 

Making work work for our team

When Ad Signal was founded in 2018, we set out to prove that wellbeing isn’t a perk or a nice-to-have, it’s a foundation for sustainable business success. From equal parental leave and long-term sick pay, to subsidised home wifi and fully remote working, we’ve designed our policies to actively remove barriers and support people in the realities of modern working life.

It means flexibility as standard. It means psychological safety as a non-negotiable. It means trusting people with autonomy and backing that trust with practical policies. And it means recognising that diversity, equity and inclusion aren’t side projects, they’re integral to how we grow as a company.


Living our values through growth

The past year has been one of significant growth for Ad Signal. Our team has expanded from 26 to 33 people, and we’ve secured major investment to accelerate the next stage of our journey. Yet even as we scale, our foundations and core values remain the same: honesty, loyalty, tenacity and accountability.


As our CEO, Tom Dunning, put it:
“Ad Signal was founded with a clear set of values back in 2018, and it’s been amazing to see those values not only stand the test of time but also strengthen as we’ve grown. We’ve gone from a small founding team to a thriving company of more than 30 people, and throughout, our commitment to ‘making work work’ for our people has never wavered. This award is an amazing validation of that approach.”


We’ve seen measurable improvements in workforce diversity; higher retention rates among the team with flexible arrangements; and a level of collective commitment that speaks volumes. These outcomes reinforce what we’ve always known – when people feel supported, happy and included, they do their best work.

 

Sharing what we’ve learned

Workplace wellbeing isn’t a competition and it certainly isn’t something we want to gatekeep. Every business has the opportunity and responsibility to make work work better for their people.
